Ein Blick – A glance at three living situations in Göttingen!

– starts: Sun 15pm | Tue 16pm | Wed 11am –
Maximum participants: 10

Join us for a walk through the ‚Ostviertel‘ of Göttingen!

The eastern part of Göttingen is known for its urban villas. On this exciting tour, you will get to view the beautiful architecture on the outside and also an exclusive peek to the inside of three different versions of housing in Göttingen!

The tour begins on-campus at the main venue, Zentrales Hörsaalgebäude (ZHG) located at Platz der Göttinger Sieben 5, near the exit toward the VG and near the registration desk. Heading east across campus, you will notice a complex of yellow buildings, which is now a part of the „Philosophische Fakultät“, but in the past, it functioned as a hospital. Interesting fact: to this day, the Operating Room is still in use—as a stage for a student drama group! Exiting from campus, we will walk past a real hospital (Neu-Maria-Hilf-Krankenhaus). Continuing down Leonard-Nelson-Straße to our first destination, we will take a look into the historic home of a small family. On the way to our second destination, a traditional Wohngemeinschaft (WG, German for shared housing), we will pass one part of the Max-Planck-Institut. From the WG, we will keep walking downhill, passing the St. Paulus church, and reach our third destination, a Verbindungshaus, where you can enjoy the last house tour. This house is located right next to the Deutsches Theater and is part of Göttingen’s inner city or “Innenstadt.”

From here, we will gladly accompany you back to campus, but you are also free to continue exploring the quaint city charms of Göttingen!
